Payment solution Flexa is going worldwide with Canadian market launch.
Flexa, which introduced the U.S. version of its SPEDN cryptocurrency wallet in May, revealed its Canadian expansion in an official blog post. Sponsored by cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, Flexa’s worldwide development is preceded by support for cryptocurrencies litecoin and zcash and the introduction of an Android beta mobile app.
Operating like a pipeline for commercial transactions, SPEDN processes standard purchases in cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, or native token flexacoin.
Today, SPEDN is presently available to Canadians on both iOS and Android. The post asserts 7,500 Canadian businesses will be on-boarded by September.
Flexa states Canadian and U.S. clients can utilize SPEDN in either nation free of conversion costs or exchange rates issues, with all funds insured and custodied by Gemini.
Flexa co-founder Tyler Spalding stated the payments processor plans on introducing in new nations by the end of the year but refused to disclose the locations.
Also, on-boarding extra coins is in the works.
“Regarding the market, we anticipate considerable growth of ‘spendable cryptocurrencies’ like stable coins and loyalty coins over the next year that will drive consumer demand for spending,” Spalding stated. “We are working with multiple projects and intend to launch many new coins on the network shortly. For now, we’ve been really impressed with the current communities and their repeated use of the SPEDN app, particularly litecoin.”
Canada-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinsquare collaborated with Flexa for the rollout.
