Online Lender SoFi’s Cryto Trading Platform to Go Live on Tuesday

Online loan platform SoFi revealed its cryptocurrency trading platform would launch next Tuesday.

Bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin will be the first cryptocurrencies accessible to trade on its SoFi Invest platform, CEO Anthony Noto said through a Fortune interview on September 25.

With the new platform, SoFi joins various digital-first trading companies like eToro and Robinhood to enter the cryptocurrency space.

Noto said digital currency trading option has been requested by clients for quite some time. The company targets millennial investors through its student loan consolidation product.

Coinbase was tapped to offer the company’s cryptocurrency liquidity, as mentioned in February. The collaboration will also permit SoFi clients to monitor cryptocurrency price movements.

The company said it would like to be registered in each of the 50 states in the coming months, underscoring that trading won’t be accessible in New York or New Jersey at launch.
