BitFlyer Europe Clients Can Now Purchase Crypto Using Credit Cards

Digital currency exchange BitFlyer, perceived as one of the ten exchanges with “real” trading volumes by asset management company Bitwise, has recently made it simpler for clients to purchase digital currencies.

The exchange’s European unit revealed on December 5 that it had included an “Instant Buy” facility on its platform, allowing clients to buy digital currencies utilizing credit cards, debit cards, and local instant transfer methods like iDeal, GiroPay, and Sofort.

“By making it similar to that of a traditional e-commerce experience, we are helping bringing cryptocurrency to a mainstream audience,” said BitFlyer Europe’s co-head and COO, Andy Bryant.

According to Bryant, Germany-based Wirecard, the payment processing partner of BitFlyer Europe, will provide the Instant Buy facility, adding that the transaction charges for handling credit card payments are 1.95% + €0.25 for every transaction, and 1.95% + €0.30 for every transaction for other payment strategies.

In October, the exchange also rolled out its mobile applications and presently provides trading seven digital currencies—bitcoin (BTC), litecoin (LTC), ether (ETH), ether exemplary (ETC), bitcoin cash (BCH), monacoin (MONA), and lisk (LSK).

BitFlyer is based in Japan and has a unit in the U.S. A week ago, the exchange included trading support for XRP digital currency on its Japanese platform—the move marked the first digital currency included to its platform in nearly two years.
